Hello everyone. Sadly, we come with an announcement that may not be too surprising for a lot of you. After a discussion between the mod team, we feel like it would be best to close down Subnautica. Our player count has reached a point low enough that it, understandably, has affected the activity levels of the game to the point where we are not sure how to recover from it.
We want to thank each and everyone one of you who has continued to stick with us for this long. We'll also like to thank everyone who got swept away by the tide (we will stop making ocean jokes when we're dead), because you, too, have helped shaped this little game throughout the little over a year we've been running! Being in this game, as both players and mods, has been an amazing experience for us, and we hope that it has been one for you all too.
We have a few options here to go over.
1) Close the game as is without tying up the loose ends icly.
2) Attempt to finish off some plot points and then close the game.
We are, admittedly, leaning more towards the first option simply because there are still a lot of things left open and it would probably take some time to bring the game's plot to any sort of real conclusion. Considering the drop rate over the past few months, we're not sure if we'll be able to supply you with something completely satisfactory before we lose too many people. However, like we stated in our suggestions post (thank you everyone who commented to it), we will do whatever the majority wants. Please let us know if you have any strong feelings that are leaning one way or another.
Currently, we are toying with the idea of potentially rebooting the game in the future. This would not happen for a while though, as it's not something we'd want to rush into if we decide to continue with the idea. We will let everyone know in the future how we feel about this plan.
Once again, we want to make sure you're all aware of what a bright spot you have been in our lives. Thank you for being an amazing playerbase. We wish you the absolute best, and remember that you were the best crew URSULA has ever had. ❤️
