Hellooooo, everyone! I'm Aly and I have far too much energy for 2:30 am-- I mean, here I'm bringing Tytree Crowe (truly pronounced more like "tea tray" than "tie-tree," despite the spelling) from Tales of Rebirth! Since he comes from one of those pesky unlocalized Tales of games, I'll break it down real simple:

Tytree's a pretty simple, self-proclaimed country bumpkin who just wants everyone to get along. But he's also intense and hot-blooded, kind of a dummy... and he probably wants to cook for you? He's a pretty outgoing and friendly guy, he's ready to decide people are his friends without their consent and be the JRPG protag he definitely isn't, because he's the second banana.

Helllo! I have to say, I greatly appreciate the guide to his name. I've been wondering about it all along. Even though I haven't gotten to play ToR, I feel like that description paints a vivid, vivid picture of a personality.

Well, I'm glad I could solve one mystery! ...It eluded me too seeing it until I played the game and heard it myself, so I understand the struggle. His personality is very vivid, so I'll be happy if that can shine through while I lament forever how few people got to experience such a good game.

It's one of the games I'm mad at Bamco for not handing over. ...Okay I'm mad at Bamco for all of the ones I can't get at. AT LEAST I CAN ENJOY TYTREE THROUGH YOUR PLAYING. I must hold onto this while weeping and waiting.

I'M GLAD... it means I am doing my duty of keeping old Tales out in the world... at least this one has a good translation out there.

Hi Aly! I'm Melly and I have Roderic Pyre here. He's a metahuman who can 'hear' people's future/present/past and that, combined with his past, has made him a super quiet and almost shy/sullen guy. Totally needs to make a friend like Tytree so he isn't just hiding in a corner forever.

Excited to thread with him soon. And thank you for giving the pronunciation of his name since I was a little baffled by it at first, haha. I thought you pronounced it as 'Tie-three' at first for some reason i am sorry..... /o\

It's nice to meet you, Melly! I can admit I'm completely blind here, but the protag of Tytree's game is an extremely sullen guy (I think he literally smiles once the entire game), so he's used to those types and it never stops him from aggressive friendship. So not to worry, Tytree won't let him hide in a corner!

And I'm glad I could help on the pronunciation! I knew very few people would have heard it aloud before to actually know since he's not a very well-known character! ♥

tytree seems like such a gem, i hope you have a fantastic time with him here, Aly! also hello and welcome! i'm kc, just swimming around with an inquisitor from the dragon age: inquisition game. tytree, go be the second banana who found his own character arc in panfandom that you were always probably not actually meant to be, but think of the possibilities now...!

It's nice to meet you, KC! I admittedly haven't gotten around to DA (even though I own all of the games, the backlog is too real), but I'm all for changing that via osmosis until that time comes! I'm definitely looking forward to throwing this mop of green around and giving him all the possibilities available! ♥

I am sadly canon unfamiliar, but welcome aboard! I'm Stefan and I play Peridot from Steven Universe. She's a cranky green space rock and will probably find Tytree's personality both irritating and oddly familiar.

It's great to meet you, Stefan! We can trade being canon unfamiliar and roll with the punches. There is solidarity in all this green and he'll probably still find a way to take a liking to her even despite crankiness. :D

Wow that is not a all how I would expect his name to be pronounced.

Hi! I'm Peter, and you may remember this huge slab of meat from the TDM.

I think that's the most common reaction... the pronunciation makes a lot more sense with the Japanese spelling than the romanization, so it's baffling to us all.

It's nice to meet you though, Peter, and I do indeed remember!
