Christmas is here at last! Tis the season for gift-giving and snow. Snow may be harder to come by, though, but good news! URSULA will be lowering the temperature of the base to 32°F (that would be 0°C) in the evenings to encourage a Christmasy atmosphere.
Reminder that, there will be no AC requirements in December though we will still ask that you check in and, if you can, tell us your activities! We still need to write this post for January after all!

Dreaming of a White Christmas
Given the nature of the game and the very tropical weather involved, we can't exactly make it snow for Christmas. We know you must all be very disappointed. We're so sorry! But we can give you something falling from the sky for the holidays!
That is to say: A spaceship is crashing.
But not just any spaceship. This ship happens to be a Kharaa ship, drawn to the area by the Nostromo's distress beacon just as the Sunbeam was before it. Of course, their reasons were far less friendly than the Sunbeam's. But surely no one around here would trust a Kharaa?
Around noon on the 7th a pulse will ring through the planet. It will temporarily disable any unnatural abilities in crew members as well as life support systems. URSULA will be able to get life support back online within an hour, while powers will come back within a day. What powers and abilities are effected are entirely up to you! Perhaps all of your character's abilities will be disabled, or perhaps none at all. It can also last longer than a day, should it be something you wish to play around with. We leave this choice in players' hands.
The crashed ship will be identified as The Narcissus, which URSULA recognizes as a cargo ship that did military runs. Although her scanners indicate no survivors, she would like to try searching the wreckage anyway.
Naturally, that's where you come in. Check the main mission of the month and see what you can find for Christmas surprises!
Some of the updates mentioned here, along with a few others, have been added to the Biome and Base posts. As mods we don't manage the player-run Subnautica discovery document but we encourage everyone to use the document for details that aren't included on the Biome and Base posts.
BIOMES
The Grand Reef has been explored and more spiritual hotspots have been found. A massive hotspot has been found further down this area that has yet to be explored.
A small base has been discovered below the lava vents. It's fairly small in size and it seems to have been used as a research lab. It has been abandoned but it seems as if someone else has recently paid a visit to it in search of something. It is unknown if they found whatever they were looking for.
BASE
A barn has been made on the base island. As of now, it is home to Zelda's Loftwing, but over time it possibly can be expanded if more pets who may not be comfortable living in an underwater base are introduced. That's completely up to the crew! Speaking of the base island, the construction on it is still currently ongoing. Inside the underwater base, the construction of Can Town has begun in the second floor observatory. Crew members are encouraged to help build it.
Some other new additions include cotton candy, more herbs and spices, and a lot of different types of metal that were leftover from Naoko's mission from November. A few other things like a pesticide that a previous crew from another ship used to create the Barren Reef and a mysterious serum that seems to have some connection to the Kharaa has been recovered, but there isn't much known about the latter.
TECH
The new submarine has been completed. This one can reach deeper depths than the other submersibles at the base. The Goggleos have also been created, which are a piece of virtual reality tech that will enable characters who were not able to see Mikleo to now, well, see him. Yay Meebo!
SUNBEAM
A few more exchanges have been made with the Sunbeam, the cargo ship that temporarily orbited the planet for a couple of weeks. They gave some information on ISHMAEL, the Kharaa, the Degasi, and the Nostromo. They also did a few supply drops that included food (both junk and healthy), entertainment such as movies, various equipment and scrap, and also a lot of chalk. They said that they will tell others about the crew being on the planet so that now, the base can expect semi-regular supply drops from ships who happen to be passing by in the area.
KHARAA
Dave Strider has finally informed the rest of the base of the Kharaa presence on Iniidae! If any crew members wish to meet these apparently friendly Kharaa, Dave wants them to speak to Rose Lalonde first so she can use her Seer powers in order to peek into the future to see if it's safe or not. It seems like, for some unknown reason, having a very large group visit the Kharaa may end badly.
According to the Sunbeam, there is a Kharaa ship flying near Iniidae. The crew of the Sunbeam said that the chances of those Kharaa landing on the planet are slim because it doesn't seem like the type of planet they'd be interested in. Let's hope for the best!
HORRORTERRORS
A few crew members have made more progress with the Emperor. They've discovered that the sickness she has is similar to the one that had infected the base, but far more advanced in form. Her antibodies have kept the disease controlled enough as to not kill her, but she's still suffering from it. Some of the crew has helped purify her which has helped somewhat! She also revealed that it was a strange people who had made her and the Dragon immortal. The people wanted to use them as experiments. They have since vanished or died off, and the Emperor has no other information on them.
MEMORIES
Some progress has been made regarding the crew's mysterious arrival to the planet and their altered memories! It has been discovered that buried deep within the crew members' subconscious are memories of drowning and experiencing electric jolts. Once these new memories are remembered, it will feel like the memory of drowning was there all the time and suddenly recalled, similar to when you suddenly remember something you wanted to say or something you were trying to recall earlier. The fake memories will feel more like a dream now, something that came about organically from their own minds. In order to gain these new memories, each crew member will have to go through the process in order to have them invoked. It will be fairly unpleasant!
Remember you're also free to explore and do whatever you wish and can ask us about your own mission objectives as well.
MAIN MISSION: SALVAGE THE NARCISSUS
URSULA SAYS:"How unfortunate... I believe last time we retrieved bodies from the Aurora and salvage as well? I suppose needs must. We should once again do what we can here and take whatever we need. I'm only grateful we managed to turn off that signal before anymore came! But why didn't they contact us?"
REQUIREMENTS: Pretty simple! Just explore the fragmented ship to your heart's content.
RESULTS: Salvage, goodies and surprises. If there's something in particular you want to find or do with this ship, let us make Christmas miracles happen for you on this ship of dreams! Just tell us what it is.
SIDE MISSION: RANDOM ACTS OF KINDNESS
URSULA SAYS: "Perhaps with everything that's happened, it might be good to bring some holiday cheer to others! That's perfect. Everyone, please cheer up one random crew member."
REQUIREMENTS: Just like it says, bring some holiday cheer to others on the base by doing random acts of kindness. Spread the happiness! This can't possibly be awkward. Note that URSULA will help your character with any convenient issues needed. She can break the showers to help you fix them for kindness! Don't worry it totally still counts even if she helps.
RESULTS: URSULA will be happy and so will someone else probably?
Mission: SURFING the world wide web Characters: Ami Details: She wants to map the digital landscape of Iniidae as she can access it, starting with the network on the base and branching out to whatever devices might be accessible in URSULA's full range, for future travel purposes. She'll be doing this by moving through the network, noting paths and exit points, comparing them to physical maps, then accessing the assumed matches from the outside to verify connections. No exit points will be used from inside until they've been checked from the outside, in the interest of not popping out in the middle of the ocean and dying. Any ?MYSTERY EXITS? will just be left alone for now.
This will be a long-term project (two months, likely more) because shit's complicated and takes time yo.
Mission: Stupid Nonsense Characters: Rose Lalonde Details: Rose has been hardcore knitting for a while for Christmas Sweaters. She's got the ones for friends handled, BUT she's also undertaking the grand quest of harassing her brother with a Christmas Sweater Advent Calendar. As in, a sweater every day until Christmas. Because he needs to be drowned in sweaters, she supposes. She is going to ask URSULA her opinion on sweater designs to fill the days because as creative is she is, 25 sweater designs are uh. a bit much for her. Will she drown in her own yarn in the process. Yes. Will it stop her. No.
She will also ask what kind of sweater URSULA would like herself, since of course the friendly AI overlord needs one as well right.
eta: aND ALSO she's making the Magister a water-proof Christmas sweater THAT'S ALSO IMPORTANT...
Mission: When Spirits Sleep Characters: Fi Details: Fi is going to be knocked out into a deep sleep in the Master Sword due to the pulse, and she's going to take the opportunity to return to the Dreamscape and see if she can travel out in it towards spiritual hotspots. Her destination is nearby the massive one in the Grand Reef, but others are on the path she's going to take, trying to discern what they're like in the Dreamscape. She'll be keeping her eyes open for any abnormalities as well as looking for clues as to why the one in the Reef is so giant.
Mission: A heater for every hearth Characters: Hajime Hinata, Hajime Ichinose, whoever wants to join in-! Details: Hinata's going to make at least one kotatsu for Room 1, though he'll make more as people request? As URSULA seems to like the cold, he'll just... make some efficient and portable heaters for people to keep in their room. Heavy blanket for proper kotatsu use optional, of course.
As part of his quest to try to be nicer to URSULA, he'll also ask what kind of pattern she thinks would be nice for a kotatsu blanket. And draw her a picture in case she doesn't have weird Japanese Earth shit in her databases to look up for reference.
Mission: Salvage the Narcissus Characters: Roderic! Details: He'll be looking through the ship, keeping an eye out for interesting devices and/or durable, strong material that you can use for building and inventing. Bonus points if it's a communication device or recorder that gives him and the others a better idea what happened to the crew prior to the crash. He's also kind of hoping to find something that's the equivalent of cigarettes please for the love of God he just wants to smoke????
Mission: Back to the Drawing Board Characters: Roderic Details:After he (backdatingly) will give Naoko and the gang the shield generator he's finished, he'll go back to the drawing board and make a new shield generator with improvements to it: Tweaking the battery so it'll last longer with the magic, fixing the configuration so it catches all projectiles instead of only the slowly moving one, fix the lighting so it's not such an obvious glow and it can be discreet when placed on URSULA. He'll even ask URSULA what colour of the light she wants it to be if blue isn't her thing. He's not expecting this to be done within the month but he's hoping his experience with the first iteration gives him an edge in progress making!
Mission: Curing Horrorterrors & Finding Babies Con't. Characters: Sorey Details: As a minor follow-up to last month, Sorey would like to make a quick visit to the Emperor in the dreamscape and ask her a few more questions! He'd like to know if she could tell them where she is in the waking world; he'd explain that if her children are nearby her physical body, then they would be able to find them faster by locating her first. Any sort of location indicators would help! And he'd also like to know if she's willing to provide them with a sample if they do find her body--if her illness and the Sea Dragon's are similar in nature, then having more samples will hopefully lead them to a cure.
Also he wants to give her a (dream-made) bracelet infused with a low level of purification so she doesn't have to rely on waiting around for him if she starts to feel bad again; I imagine the effects might fade after some time but it's the thought that counts!!!
Mission: Random Acts of Kindness Characters: Roxy Details: To help get everyone in the holiday spirit Roxy wants to decorate the base! Wreaths, tinsel, snowflakes, mistletoe... lots of mistletoe... the whole shebang, including a tree... if they can find one that resembles a pine?? idk. Did I mention the most important part is the mistletoe? She also wants to hang stockings up for everyone outside their rooms, and who knows? mebbe Santa will fill them up with goodies for Christmas... (they'll ~*magically*~ fill up with candy + small gifts the morning of!!! who knew Santa had Voidy powers??)
Mission: Ferris Wheel's Day Off Characters: Dirk and anyone who wants to help; Annabeth decided where to put it Details: He is determined to make the Ferris Wheel before Christmas so. Yeah. There we go. Building a ferris wheel on the island base entirely because his brother made an off-handed request. This is where we're at.
He'll scavange for strong material/use the drones to help him out so he should be covered on a lot of things there.
Mission: Salvage the Narcissus Characters: Percy Details: Exploring is A+ and Percy would immediately head out to explore the ship. He'll do his best not to drown, etc etc. His main goal would be to not only explore the ship itself for anything salvageable but also talk to the local sealife (as usual, as your residential aquaman) to see what they know about the ship, if any of them were around to see it crash, etc.
Mission: SS Blanket Fort Characters: Percy (and technically Hotaru) Details: URSULA why are you so rude. Why would you make it so cold??? Thanks to the cold Percy would like to create a giant blanket fort (drinks and snacks provided by Hotaru since he'll be contacting her) to allow members of the crew to gather together and get warm. Mostly he'd just like to hunt down a bunch of supplies, etc.
Mission: Under the Sea (Floor) Characters: Percy Details: Thanks to his talk with Sorey and Mikleo about the tunnels under the kelp forest and thanks to learning from the fish in the grand reef that one of the Degasi crew members (he assumes) went to the water that flows below, he'll be following up on that. Sea pressure doesn't bother him at all when his powers are functional so he'll take Sorey's advice to be vaccinated by Valentine before he dives down to explore the tunnels some more himself, see if there are, in fact, other tunnels in other biomes, and see if he can find "the water that flows below."
Mission: Fish are Friends, Not Food Characters: Percy (and he'll probably drag Homura into this, too) Details: In light of talking to fish around the base and trying to help integrate the baby reaper and learning that the fish will behave with food…Percy will want to start doing some research about what foods what fish will like best. He doesn't know how to cook? Save him? These are probably the worst two people to do this but he is Determined. Mostly he'd like to find what the fish favor to work with them whether that means heading out to get something special for them or feeding them cotton candy

Specifically, he'd like to look for any kind of tech that might be useful. Advanced circuitry, nanotech, metal, etc. He'll look for a Robotics Bay first thing and try other places, probably starting with the deck, if there's nothing there. He'll probably do this a few times to get As Much Salvage as possible.
also I would like him to be able to fight the Reaper he fought when he first arrived??? he just. it's been months. HE ISN'T ALLOWED TO ATTACK IT IF IT ISN'T SELF-DEFENCE THOUGH dave's awful and mean. I understand if this is not possible
Mission: Salvage the Narcissus Characters: Jake! Details: Mostly he wants to find cool stuff to decorate his room with and build and also he's keeping an eye out for unique gifts for his friends so. He wants to hoard lots of shit basically and make people happy. He'll have emptied his sylladex beforehand to carry more shit.
Mission: Adding Fauna Characters: Jake! Again! Details: He. Wants to create Tinkerbulls. With his hope powers. He thinks they would be a nice addition to the island everyone made? It's also an animal he is very familiar with so he can actually do okay with creating them probably with the power of belief. I think. BUT IT'S UP TO YOU GUYS IF HE'S SUCCESSFUL POPULATING THE ISLAND WITH THEM.

- HE'S GONNA LEAVE CHRISTMAS CARE PACKAGES FOR THE CREW ON MOUNTAIN ISLAND?? With foodstuffs (mostly practical but there's a small coldbox of ice cream since they have the materials around for a little now) and some sturdy cloth/clothing from the fabricator (he might or might not have put Santa and candycanes on a lot of it in a misguided festive attempt, but there's a reefback-printed light sweater for Jenn) and also a couple of the Reaper knives which he's spell-modded to ignore water pressure as long as they don't go super deep. The note he leaves is like HI IT'S MIKLEO MERRY EARTH CHRISTMAS JENN NAOKO AND MIKHAIL HOPE YOU ENJOY, PS IF YOU SEE STUFF FLOATING ON YOUR SHORELINE IN FUTURE IT'S PROBABLY ME, PLS CHECK BEFORE SHOOTING. Only a bit more formal.
- He's gonna use the dreamscape's malleability and the modified telepathy nanites to make a gift to URSULA -- basically using a combo of memories from home and from Iniidae to construct a dream of a party for her with present crew and past crew, and then transmit the experience of it to her systems when he's awake. It's a complicated thing with a lot of people so probably it's a little messy (some of the people get faded/less detailed sometimes, and it's not completely clear if it's a Christmas or birthday or Halloween party) but he'll do his best to make it a nice for her.
- He will also be making little batches of ice cream (AND FINALLY TRANSPLANTING A BUNCH OF THE TREES FROM MILKFRUIT ISLAND TO THE ISLE OF THE GODS, BECAUSE HE'S REAL TIRED OF HAVING THEM FAR AWAY) and enlisting the help of URSULA's drones to leave them near various crew members at random in the days leading up to Christmas. Mission: Operation Komaeda Takes Matters Into His Own Hands Characters: Komaeda, maybe some other people. Details: First Komaeda would like to make a small explosive, enough to blow up a room potentially. He would look for instructions on how to do this and then see if they have materials. He would also see if something could be converted to his purposes from what is already on the base.
On top of this he would see if he can get Ursula to delete a chat log between him and Karkat erasing all evidence it ever existed, and request recovering it not be an option. If this would somehow not work he would try to force his way into wherever that's stored and do it himself, possibly causing a lot of trouble.
Mission: Salvage the Narcissus Characters: Just Homura! A lone wolf on the prowl?? Nah. Just an idiot. Details: Homura is going in search of any signs of life, because she wants to find out if Madoka was here. Specifically Madoka. Anything else can continue to rot. It's fine. That said, prior to going, she'll also ask URSULA if there's anything she specifically wants, and will certainly try to find it - since she's the AI, Homura wants to get on her good side. MAYBE SHE HAS INFORMATION ON MADOKA. Homura doesn't know.
Mission: New Year Newly Cleaned Everything Characters: Homura! Details: Homura's going to be working hard on keeping the base clean in preparation for New Year's. It's a very uncomfortable concept to her, time moving forward, so she'll deal with it by being over prepared, like she deals with everything. Since removing all the dirt from the previous year is a large part of moving forward in the coming year, she wants to make sure everything dirty is... clean. No matter what it is. The entire base will be spotless come midnight or so help her.
Mission: Salvage the Narcissus Characters: Hotaru, anyone else can find what she wants to find honestly Details: She will looking specifically for food and basic medical/cleaning supplies (antiseptics and disinfectants like alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, bleach, things like that). Any kind of food but the food she wants the most for the end of December are soba noodles.
Also, Hotaru wouldn't know what they are, but if there could be like pizza lunchables or capri sun pouches, that'd be amazing? No childhood should be without in my very humble and nostalgic opinion, but lunchables are probably made with enough preservatives to last forever.... This last request is more of a far shot than anything else.

Mission: who tells your story Characters: Hotaru Details: She is interested in the history of the planet or the history of any animal species? Sorey was telling her about the Reefbacks, and she would go to the more intelligent species (reefbacks, angel wings, etc.) in the dreamscape and ask them for their history/story. She'd also ask any species that can sing if it'd be all right to record their song in the waking world.
Mission: Kharaa Stuff As Usual Characters: Rose Lalonde's dumb seer powers Details: At Dave's behest, Rose will be using her Seer powers this time to see whether the hive Dave found is something he should or even can keep and stay on track for goodend or if he should destroy it, as well as if taking the drones Dirk found to P Diddy et al would have positive or negative results.
Mission: kharaa shit Characters: dave + i think dirk will insist on tagging along Details: I GOT BUSY HOLIDAY WISE but he did loop out time to thanksgiving them and bring a shit ton of sbahj shirts, and also the movies dubbed over (...semi-badly since dirk is monotone) in kharaa by the striders. also, he will pop over pre christmas to explain christmas to them, including the concept of decorating a holiday tree. DEPENDING ON THE ANSWERS TO ROSE'S MISSION he may have other stuff, but i wanted to set this down (i.e. if she tells him the drones are safe to hand over he will. transport them? but)
Mission: magister Characters: dave + rose Details: THIS IS PROBABLY NOT CRITICAL TO REPORT but the strilondes are teaching their baby about christmas and will let him write a letter to santa (or rather just tell them if he wants anything for christmas) and will impress on him that good children get presents on chirstmas??? his rabbitray court will also be dreamscape encouraged to ask for a present apiece. because...this is a crucial mission ig. also, dave will teach them all christmas carols.
Mission: GINGERBREAD Characters: rapunzel Details: got asked to make gingerbread and will try to do that w/ supplies. WHEN COMPLETE SHE'D also want to try to make frosting and set up gingerbread house decoration stations. also, she would ask someone to deliver a giftbasket of gingerbread cookies to naoko et all, and also probably some other baked goods.
Mission: cheese Characters: rapunzel Details: so since she solved her milk problem and mikleo did something with milk plants she will just. make cheese. and butter??? she has both skill sets this is fine
Mission: NARCISSUS SCAN: THE SOUL SISTERS Characters: Dirk Strider, Dave's gonna come and help I guess Details: After Dave gets possessed, Dirk is going to basically comb the Narcissus for the Kharaa by using his soul senses. Like, also his eyes. But by this point, he knows Iniidae's soul feeling (with the singing) and the individual souls of everyone on base pretty well, + he's had a lot of exposure to Kharaa souls. So he'll go through the Narcissus and around it trying to find any Kharaa. The goal is to kill anything malicious and, er, ask Rose about if it's okay to keep non-malicious ones alive.
this would be easier if people just let him blow up the Narcissus but Fine the hard way it is.
SO BASICALLY will Dirk detect Kharaa souls / what will he find if he does / how many boss fights are they going to end up going through before Dirk finally gets to the Reaper on the second longest day of his damn life

Mission: random acts of kindness Characters: hajime Details: hajime is going to be making gifts for the animals?? for example she is gonna be making lil pet beds for birdogs and other land animals, giving out extra food to the fish that are friendly, and things like that! it is to try to help build an even closer relationship with the wildlife
Mission: Up, up, and who let this idiot out Characters:Kon Details: Kon is getting frustrated with his inability to contribute to any of the more technical stuff going on and also beginning to feel like he should be more concerned about finding a way home. Naturally, this means he's going to try to go into space. Because I don't know he's from a comic book where they do shit like that? Kon is going to be taking the best/longest rebreather he can find around the base, surrounding his body in a protective layer of TTK on top of his usual layer of TTK, and flying straight up. (This is apparently a valid way to protect his body from space in comics.) His end goal is basically to see if he can discover anything of note. Somewhere in his brain (???) he's hoping he'll find signs that the Green Lantern Corp exists in this universe. On the off chance he actually makes it up, he'd also try and snap some pictures of what he can see??? (SPACE)
Second to this, if he doesn't actually make it into space because the pulse shoots him down, he's just going to repeatedly zoom up and get shot down until he wears himself out. Maybe he'll figure out some sort of pattern???
He's smart enough to do this several miles away from the base, mostly because he doesn't want anyone to tell him he's being an idiot.
Mission: flashdrive Characters: dave and roxy Details: remember that flashdrive of crypted info from the ship dave and rose found last month well IF HE GIVES IT TO ROXY TO CRACK, WHAT ALL CAN SHE GET so i can toss the link thataway
Mission: Security upgrades! Characters: Dirk, Annabeth, Roxy, Hinata Details: In light of BOMBS, they're upgrading security with more locks and less free access to dangerous things. So!
The locks will be upgraded to be biometric (hands print as before) but also require voice activation. There is an option to include a physical key although people would need to not lose those so they'd have to be careful.
There will be a sensitive area access list, which currently is just the weapons room. Everyone is on it by default, and to lose access, they need a three-person vote from 'senior Altera Science Group' members. In this case, Dirk and Annabeth would ask to take the vote with URSULA to remove Komaeda from the list.
Hinata, Roxy, and Dirk will have been working extensively to upgrade security on URSULA and keep her data safe and sound!

Details: Fi is going to be knocked out into a deep sleep in the Master Sword due to the pulse, and she's going to take the opportunity to return to the Dreamscape and see if she can travel out in it towards spiritual hotspots. Her destination is nearby the massive one in the Grand Reef, but others are on the path she's going to take, trying to discern what they're like in the Dreamscape. She'll be keeping her eyes open for any abnormalities as well as looking for clues as to why the one in the Reef is so giant.

Details:After he (backdatingly) will give Naoko and the gang the shield generator he's finished, he'll go back to the drawing board and make a new shield generator with improvements to it: Tweaking the battery so it'll last longer with the magic, fixing the configuration so it catches all projectiles instead of only the slowly moving one, fix the lighting so it's not such an obvious glow and it can be discreet when placed on URSULA. He'll even ask URSULA what colour of the light she wants it to be if blue isn't her thing. He's not expecting this to be done within the month but he's hoping his experience with the first iteration gives him an edge in progress making!

Details: As a minor follow-up to last month, Sorey would like to make a quick visit to the Emperor in the dreamscape and ask her a few more questions! He'd like to know if she could tell them where she is in the waking world; he'd explain that if her children are nearby her physical body, then they would be able to find them faster by locating her first. Any sort of location indicators would help! And he'd also like to know if she's willing to provide them with a sample if they do find her body--if her illness and the Sea Dragon's are similar in nature, then having more samples will hopefully lead them to a cure.
Also he wants to give her a (dream-made) bracelet infused with a low level of purification so she doesn't have to rely on waiting around for him if she starts to feel bad again; I imagine the effects might fade after some time but it's the thought that counts!!!

Details: Thanks to his talk with Sorey and Mikleo about the tunnels under the kelp forest and thanks to learning from the fish in the grand reef that one of the Degasi crew members (he assumes) went to the water that flows below, he'll be following up on that. Sea pressure doesn't bother him at all when his powers are functional so he'll take Sorey's advice to be vaccinated by Valentine before he dives down to explore the tunnels some more himself, see if there are, in fact, other tunnels in other biomes, and see if he can find "the water that flows below."
Mission: Fish are Friends, Not Food
Characters: Percy (and he'll probably drag Homura into this, too)
Details: In light of talking to fish around the base and trying to help integrate the baby reaper and learning that the fish will behave with food…Percy will want to start doing some research about what foods what fish will like best. He doesn't know how to cook? Save him? These are probably the worst two people to do this but he is Determined. Mostly he'd like to find what the fish favor to work with them whether that means heading out to get something special for them or feeding them cotton candy

The note he leaves is like HI IT'S MIKLEO MERRY EARTH CHRISTMAS JENN NAOKO AND MIKHAIL HOPE YOU ENJOY, PS IF YOU SEE STUFF FLOATING ON YOUR SHORELINE IN FUTURE IT'S PROBABLY ME, PLS CHECK BEFORE SHOOTING. - He's gonna use the dreamscape's malleability and the modified telepathy nanites to make a gift to URSULA -- basically using a combo of memories from home and from Iniidae to construct a dream of a party for her with present crew and past crew, and then transmit the experience of it to her systems when he's awake. It's a complicated thing with a lot of people so probably it's a little messy (some of the people get faded/less detailed sometimes, and it's not completely clear if it's a Christmas or birthday or Halloween party) but he'll do his best to make it a nice for her.
- He will also be making little batches of ice cream (AND FINALLY TRANSPLANTING A BUNCH OF THE TREES FROM MILKFRUIT ISLAND TO THE ISLE OF THE GODS, BECAUSE HE'S REAL TIRED OF HAVING THEM FAR AWAY) and enlisting the help of URSULA's drones to leave them near various crew members at random in the days leading up to Christmas. Details: After Dave gets possessed, Dirk is going to basically comb the Narcissus for the Kharaa by using his soul senses. Like, also his eyes. But by this point, he knows Iniidae's soul feeling (with the singing) and the individual souls of everyone on base pretty well, + he's had a lot of exposure to Kharaa souls. So he'll go through the Narcissus and around it trying to find any Kharaa. The goal is to kill anything malicious and, er, ask Rose about if it's okay to keep non-malicious ones alive.

Details: Kon is getting frustrated with his inability to contribute to any of the more technical stuff going on and also beginning to feel like he should be more concerned about finding a way home. Naturally, this means he's going to try to go into space. Because I don't know he's from a comic book where they do shit like that? Kon is going to be taking the best/longest rebreather he can find around the base, surrounding his body in a protective layer of TTK on top of his usual layer of TTK, and flying straight up. (This is apparently a valid way to protect his body from space in comics.) His end goal is basically to see if he can discover anything of note. Somewhere in his brain (???) he's hoping he'll find signs that the Green Lantern Corp exists in this universe. Details: In light of BOMBS, they're upgrading security with more locks and less free access to dangerous things. So!
The locks will be upgraded to be biometric (hands print as before) but also require voice activation. There is an option to include a physical key although people would need to not lose those so they'd have to be careful.
There will be a sensitive area access list, which currently is just the weapons room. Everyone is on it by default, and to lose access, they need a three-person vote from 'senior Altera Science Group' members. In this case, Dirk and Annabeth would ask to take the vote with URSULA to remove Komaeda from the list.
Hinata, Roxy, and Dirk will have been working extensively to upgrade security on URSULA and keep her data safe and sound!
